Horses have always been her passion and a part of her family since birth. Nic also teaches Pony Club and is a successful competitive rider in her own right.

How We Work
The equipment used for procedures are the newest designs in technology, including the intraoral camera used in our treatments. Also included is the water induction handpiece which uses water through a pump to cool teeth and keep tooth dust settled during prophylactic and equilibration procedures. This handpiece has been thoroughly researched and designed to be extremely advantageous reaching those almost impossibly positioned upper 11 buccal cusps. The burrs used are all of diamond tungsten or carbide. Previous career of human dental technology has emphasized the importance of hygiene, sterilization techniques, and prevention of cross-infection. Different sized equipment to cater for the miniature to the Clydsedale.

To achieve whole mouth dentistry it is necessary to have the horse sedated. This allows for comfort of the horse during the procedure. Safety for the horse and the practitioner, and the ability to be able to reach the further extremities of the teeth surfaces-areas.

Most Vets and Equine Dentists will agree that the benefits of sedation far outweigh the negatives. We use a Sedation and an Analgesic (pain relief) this reduces your horses anxiety, relaxes his head and neck muscles making the procedure far easier and quicker for the horse to endure. And from personal experience, there is no way any dentist is going to come near my teeth without some sort of pain relief, so why should my horse have to endure it! Did you also know that the horse’s mouth is the most sensitive part of its body!
